About Marie

I’m Marie C. Beausoleil, and I live in sunny and warm very French northern Ontario. Okay, so it’s not sunny and warm. We have three seasons here – there’s ten months of winter, two weeks of bad sledding, and then there’s summer. *Blink* There was summer.

So there are my three main identities:

- Mom/wife – I’m the mother of three handsome and wonderful young men, and I’m a step mother to another. My husband and I have been married since July 2006. I shall often refer to him as Pierre, my French fighter pilot. (If you’re interested, I can tell you the joke) My personal site is over at Trail Mix.

- Writer – I write historical fiction, and I will often be posting terribly boring things like my current word count. Or slightly more interesting things like pondering the existence or nonexistence of temple prostitutes in ancient Mesopotamia.

- Editor/Proofreader – This keeps the hot dogs and Kraft Dinner on the table. We live it up at our house. I generally edit post-graduate papers for ESL students. If anyone is interested in helping me maintain my husband in the lifestyle to which he’s become accustomed, drop me a tweet or comment.

But where do I hang out online? Well, if you do a search for the user mariebeausoleil, you’ll probably find me, if I’m there. I’m starting to work my way through the various social networking sites and at least establish my presence there, even if I’m not active. I will, though, begin building my profile and my activity in various places, at least once Nanowrimo is finished.

Follow me on Twitter at @mariebeausoleil – Just click that and it will take you to my profile page. If you haven’t already joined Twitter, I highly recommend it. Granted, it tends to suck away your time, but (as Motrin found out this weekend), it’s becoming extremely important. I currently have 559 1028 a lot of people following me, which rather blows my mind in a nice way. This is probably the place where I am the most active.

At Livejournal, I am mariebeausoleil. Noticing a trend here? I don’t use Livejournal as much as I probably should.

Shelfari, which is an interesting site where we list our favourite books, is another site where I sometimes hang out as mariebeausoleil. I’m nothing if not imaginative.

I’ve recently joined the Forward Motion Writer’s community, and I’m Marie Beausoleil there.

Twitter Moms is another interesting site I’ve joined.

I’ve joined Bright Kite, but I’m not quite sure what I’m supposed to do there.

I’ve joined delicious (why are those periods in there? Just to confuse me?) and you can find all of my bookmarks there or at Stumbleupon. They are a wild and varied sort.

I have a profile on Facebook, where I’m a wild and silly person who enjoys Safari Scrap and other silly apps. I’m Marie Beausoleil there, although I haven’t figured out yet how to link to my profile.

You’ll find me at Myspace, too, as soon as I figure out what I’m supposed to be doing there.

So there it is – my attempts so far to begin building my web presence. And you’re along for the ride.

What am I missing that I should be involved with?
