This is funny. Apparently, there is an imaginary boycott of Borders.

Neil Gaiman is (not) participating in the boycott, which was (not) started by Tobias Buckell and was (not) joined by Gregory Frost.

Sean P Aune is certain that SFF authors are boycotting Borders, and he’s astound by “the ego and entitlement these authors are showing”.

Ooops, Pat Cadigan at Ceci N’est Pas Une Blog (which means This is Not a Blog) really was calling for a boycott in early September 2008 but no one seemed interested.

I found it, I found it … Borders Boycott Not Over … oh, wait, that date says ‘99. Okay, that isn’t even in this century. It doesn’t even sound like Borders is doing very well, which makes me think buyers are already boycotting Borders. Here in Canada, we really have Chapters and not much else.

An interesting tidbit that I found – The Book Room in Halifax closed its doors in March 2008 after being open for an incredible 169 years. Sadly, it couldn’tt compete with the huge chains.
